We're proud Silver Sponsors of SPANZ and can't wait to see you in Queenstown.
As ERO's new School Improvement Framework comes into effect, there's one question on every principal's mind that we're focusing on at this event:
You've got data on attendance, behaviour, and academics.
But what about wellbeing?
Most schools only get a clear picture after something goes wrong. Pulse helps make wellbeing visible, before it becomes a crisis.

Linewize Pulse is a wellbeing check-in tool that gives students a channel to speak up and schools a way to spot those in need in just 60 seconds a week.
Linewize Monitor is a tool that provides real-time, human-moderated alerts to designated staff to students becoming vulnerable.

Good luck!
ERO's new School Improvement Framework requires schools to monitor wellbeing consistently and show the evidence. Come and talk to us about how schools across New Zealand are already doing it.
Pulse gives schools real-time visibility into how students are feeling week by week, group by group, so staff can act early, before things escalate. Students check in weekly and leaders get instant insight across cohorts, year groups, and the whole kura.

Closing the gaps that children fall through
This year at SPANZ, our focus is on supporting schools to ensure every student voice is heard and wellbeing is made visible. This is made possible with Linewize Pulse.
Here's how:
How are you feeling?
This question is now asked in both Te Ao Māori and English, with feelings expressed in both languages to support cultural expression.
Deeper Insights
Some concepts/feelings are easier to identify + best expressed in te reo Māori, so we’ve co-designed questions with tangata whenua to ensure those experiences are better reflected, reinforcing belonging.
Living Kura Values
Questions have been reviewed and co-constructed with tangata whenua to ensure they are more culturally responsive and provide deeper insights into the perspectives of our tamariki.
Giving students space to reflect and the opportunity to seek help can make all the difference. Caleb Clarke speaks to this powerfully in the video Andrew Sylvester, Linewize School Wellbeing Specialist and Partnership Manager, shared at the SPANZ opening.
Guided by our growing partnership with tangata whenua, co-design and strong relationships remain central to all our decisions. This commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi is reflected in the new Pulse, which enhances ākonga Māori wellbeing by integrating te ao Māori into every check-in.

Starting Term 2, 2026, schools must monitor wellbeing regularly, act on what they see, and demonstrate progress over time. ERO will assess schools across 14 key areas and a single annual survey is no longer enough.
Schools are now being asked to:
Understand what's happening for students and staff in a more consistent way, respond to those insights over time and show clear evidence of progress.
At the centre of it all is one clear outcome: academic success and wellbeing not as separate priorities, but as something deeply connected to teaching, learning, and the overall school experience.
